Best Black Friday alcohol deals 2020: What to expect
We usually see offers on well-known alcohol brands in supermarkets around the countdown to Christmas. However, to help combat the lower numbers of shoppers predicted to be treading the isles this year, high-street retailers will be bringing their biggest and best deals online, as they’ll be far less reliant on exclusive in-store offers.
And, we’re already starting to see Black Friday alcohol deals appear. Competition against the likes of retail giant Amazon will be lively, and we will be updating this page regularly along with our main Black Friday kitchen appliance deals page (featuring our favourite tried and tested models), so be sure to check back here for all the latest offers.

When is Black Friday 2020?
A traditional pre-Christmas shopping event in the US, Black Friday falls on the first Friday after Thanksgiving, and has now been adopted in the UK as a monster annual shopping event ahead of Christmas.

Are the alcohol deals on Black Friday worth waiting for?
Well-made alcohol isn’t cheap. The UK’s largest retailers and supermarket brands will be competing against the likes of Amazon to entice buyers earlier and earlier, as people start to think about stocking up for Christmas. Our selected favourites would also make excellent Christmas gifts for foodies, so if you’re looking for ideas, this is the right place.
How to get a good deal on Black Friday
- It will help to decide what you want before Black Friday. Deals will fluctuate, so knowing what to look out for helps you focus and stay within your budget.
- Be familiar with the RRP of each bottle in advance, so you’re aware of how much money you’ll save when each deal rolls along.
- Shop around. Some retailers such as John Lewis & Partners guarantee that they will match a price if you find a product being sold cheaper by another retailer, so we’ll likely see prices being driven down.
- Only buy bottles you can afford.
Should I wait for Cyber Monday?
We’re expecting Black Friday and Cyber Monday to be different this year. With greater social-distancing measures in place, retailers are rightly planning for fewer people shopping in store.
Instead, we can expect greater offers on the best-loved brands you’ll recognise from behind the bar online. And, we’re already seeing these go live. Our advice is not to wait for Cyber Monday – if you have your favourites in mind, buy them at a price you’re comfortable with.
